Many individuals and employers choose to do a county or state background check, when in the long run a national criminal background check may be a much better idea. A lot of people just don’t want to have to pay for a national check while other people don’t feel the need to search outside of their county or state. The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of really good reasons that you should choose a national criminal background check instead of a more localized one.
Some of the reasons that you may want to conduct a national criminal background check include but are not limited to:
- The person has lived outside of the state or county you are searching.
- You are not sure where the person has lived outside of your state or county.
- The person regularly travels outside of your state or county.
- You want a full criminal history for the person.
- The person has not lived in your area for long.
As you can see, there are a lot of reasons that you may want to do a national criminal background check. When you do a county or state check you are only getting the records for that person in a particular area. When you do a national check you are getting all of the criminal records for that person, regardless of where they live now or where you are conducting the search from. The fact of the matter is that if you don’t know where the person has lived before or you just aren’t sure if they have always lived in a particular state or county, it is better for you to do a national search. You want to get a full picture of who the person is and what they have done everywhere they have gone, not just in the area in which you reside. For this reason, in a lot of cases it simply makes a lot more sense to do the national criminal background check than it does to do a county or state criminal check.
